BACKGROUND
Windle International Somalia (WISOM) is a leading organization committed to advancing equitable access to quality education and fostering sustainable development in Somalia’s most marginalized and displacement affected communities. Windle was founded with the belief that good education was essential if Africa was to meet the challenges it faced. Windle International Somalia implements Education, Trainings and Integrated programme including WASH, Climate Adaptation and Peace Building. Guided by principles of inclusivity and evidence-based practice, WISOM’s interventions are meticulously designed to address systemic barriers to education and livelihood opportunities.
Central to this mission is the organization’s reliance on robust, contextually relevant data to inform project design, implementation, and evaluation. By integrating rigorous data collection into every phase of its programming—from needs assessments and baseline studies to midline reviews, endline evaluations, and targeted impact assessments—WISOM ensures that its initiatives are both responsive to community needs and aligned with global best practices.
WISOM is seeking a suitable candidate(s) for the Enumerator positions.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Candidates for WISOM's enumerator roster should possess:
Minimum of secondary education completion (diploma or certificate)
Previous experience in data collection for development or humanitarian organizations
Demonstrated understanding of educational contexts in Somalia
Familiarity with digital data collection platforms (KoboToolbox, ODK)
Prior training in research methodologies or field data collection
Experience working with vulnerable populations.
Verifiable references from previous data collection assignments
Essential Skills and Competencies
Successful enumerators should demonstrate:
Fluency in Somali (required) and English (preferred)
Strong numerical literacy and basic statistical understanding
Excellent interpersonal communication abilities across diverse populations
Cultural sensitivity and contextual awareness specific to Somali communities
Problem-solving skills and adaptability in challenging environments
Attention to detail and commitment to procedural consistency
Ethical judgment when handling sensitive information
Basic computer literacy including data entry and digital navigation
