Terms of Reference

Job Title: Administrative and Finance Officer

Location: Mogadishu, Somalia

Reporting to: Managing Director

Position Summary

The Finance and Administrative Officer shall be responsible for managing the finance and administration function, reporting to the Managing Director, and directly working with other departments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Production of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports

  2. Return filing and petty cash management, making sure statutory returns are submitted in time

  3. Prepare accounts and liaise with Auditors to work on them

  4. Overseeing all office and administration

  5. Create and manage company partnerships

  6. Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the supervisor

  7. Create, send, and follow up on invoices immediately after the clients offer service.

  8. Review and adhere to department budgets

  9. Report any troubling discoveries or suspicion of wrongdoing to the proper authorities

  10. Collect information for and prepare Consultant payment fees for the consultants

  11. Champion the preparation of financial reports on a regular basis

  12. Suggest changes or improvements increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.

 

Skills and Qualifications

Technical Competences

  1. Has a positive work ethic.

  2. Clear, well-organized verbal and written communication that exhibits clients' needs.

  3. Effective team player that brings valuable ideas and comments and meets obligations.

  4. Handles KCG responsibilities and problems with vigor and dedication.

  5. Pursues activities with focus and drive, defines work in terms of success,

  6. Adherence to standards of business conduct and compliance.

  7. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or any related field

  2. At least 2 years of experience in Operations, Administrative, or an accounting role

  3. Hands-on experience with ERP systems is a must and Ms. Office.

  4. Level 1 of professional accounting qualification (ACCA or CPA) is an added advantage

  5. Excellent math skills, data privacy knowledge, integrity, honesty, and customer service.

  6. Strong written and vocal English abilities are required.
