NRC has been active in Somalia since 2004 with four area offices in Kismayu, Mogadishu, Garowe and Hargeisa, providing protection and humanitarian assistance to refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees in Somaliland, Puntland, South Central and Jubaland regions. NRC offers a comprehensive response for returnees and IDPs of high need, addressing their food security, livelihood, shelter, education, ICLA, and water, hygiene and sanitation needs and also responding to emergencies through NRC’s five core competences: Shelter, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA).
Under the World Food Program’s (WFP) funding, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is spearheading a Cash-Based Transfer (CBT) and In Kind (IK) project in South Central Somalia.The project operates within the districts of Herale, Hurshe and Mirjicley,. Through ten rounds of cash-based transfers, the initiative aims to support displacement-affected communities to access immediate food needs, covering 80% of the Minimum Expenditure Basket (MEB) recommended by the Cash and Market Working Group.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Scope Registrar will be responsible for conducting Boimetric Beneficiaries Registrations, Baseline , PDM, and and end line surveys as well as data cleaning , verifications in the assigned target locations in Heraale, Marjicley and Hurshe.
Collect quality data on participants including biometrics in accordance with the WFP scope registration system guideline.
Make sure that participants rough draft list is approved by the village committee.
Work and collaborate community relief committees and elders to fast-track participants registration
Distribute and Verify participants identification token before proceeding the participant registration process.
Verify participants whether they are part of other similar interventions that can trigger duplicate.
Cross check participant data with the information provided by the elders and identification token.
Conduct sensitization awareness before and during the scope registration to prevent risks associated with misunderstanding, inclusion, and exclusion errors.
Work closely with FSL, Community Mobilizers, and MEL team on disseminating messages, and reporting accountability incidents.
Laise with and take part in FSL programme activities as required and instructed by the FSL team.
Ensure that all participants are familiar with their entitlements.
Perform other functions as requested by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications and knowledge and experience
Post Secondary professional certification with minimum two years of experience in similar work.
Post secondary diploma with one year of experience in similar work.
bachelor's degree with no previous experience in similar work
Skills and competencies
ability and knowledge to use and understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, word)
ability to proactively perceive risk and solve problems.
good communication skills both written and oral
fluency in English and Somali both written and oral
ability to work under pressure.
Good understanding in humanitarian principles
ability to travel to multiple project sites and district across project targets.
