What will you do?

  1. Maintain staff attendance/leave record and prepare a consolidated report for submission to HR unit or management.

  2. Assist the units and teams in Mogadishu to adopt the automated attendance management tool.

  3. Support on boarding for new staff/employees joining WFP Somalia, to ensure that relevant processes are followed and that the newcomers join the existent HR sessions for newcomers.

  4. Assist the hiring manager in preparing the arrival of newcomers.

  5. Prepare Danger pay (DP) for all international staff and park in the system and make sure all attendance sheets are in place for DP purpose.

  6. Monitor medical insurance queries from staff/employees based in Mogadishu and report back to the relevant medical insurance focal points.

  7. Provide assistance on general HR queries and follow up actions, to ensure consistent and high-quality HR services are delivered to clients.

  8. Provide guidance and support to newcomers as required for them to perform their duties.

  9. Perform any other duties assigned

Do you meet the minimum requirements?

• Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.

• A minimum of three or more years of relevant experience in a general administration role, including HR requiring a very high level of precision, accuracy, and attention to details.

• Proficiency in oral and written communication in Somali and English is a must.

• A minimum of one year experience in an International NGO or the United Nations is an added advantage.

Are you competent for this job? Do you have

  1. Knowledge of work routines and methods to complete processes under minimal supervision.

  2. Proficiency in data reporting.

  3. Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals.

  4. Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention.

  5. Advanced knowledge of MS Office package (Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook).

  6. General knowledge of UN policies, rules, regulations and procedures is an asset
