What will you do?

• Support and manage social protection and school feeding activities, ensuring alignment with WFP standards and other related programs.

• Provide specialized project management expertise to WFP programs, ensuring compliance with policies and targets.

• Support in the development a long-term strategy for WFP's involvement in social protection and school feeding in Hirshabelle state.

• Contribute to the design and management of a portfolio of social protection programmes and school feeding programme that effectively meet food security and nutrition needs.

• Act as a focal point for Cooperating Partners (CPs) and Ministry of Education intervention proposals, including review, Report preparation, analysis, and management of agreements and communication.

• Generate monthly and quarterly reports, perform data analysis (e.g., project site surveys, food assistance needs, resource utilization, program status), and ensure compliance with corporate standards and quality control. Collaborate on invoice processing with support units at both Area and Country Offices.

• Maintain precise and timely data records within your area of expertise (e.g., assistance programs, food security, vulnerability assessments), and ensure consistency in information shared with stakeholders.

• Take an active role in planning, supervising, and monitoring school meal programs, including enhancing their systems, structures, and services to align with WFP policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with the WFP logistics team to facilitate communication between beneficiaries (school leaders, parent committees, pupil representatives) and retailers.

• Participate in Education cluster coordination meetings organised through the cluster system and share situational updates with partners.

• Coordinate beneficiary data management platform (SCOPE) to facilitate assistance to beneficiaries guided by existing field level agreements with NGO cooperating partners.

• Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing programme activities.

• Collaborate with the Country Office's Social Protection and School Feeding Unit to assist government stakeholders in identifying and analyzing policy issues and mobilize support and technical expertise for implementing social protection solutions.

• Participating in school assessment and any other feeding mission if need arise. Support efforts to address findings from monitoring visits as well as reviews and evaluations.

• Work with CPs, UN Agencies, and government partners, such as the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and Ministry of Education and engage with other stakeholders to identify innovative programs and delivery strategies, including community-based action plans.

• Support and facilitate and coordinate capacity building initiatives for AO and CPs’ staff and government entities to strengthen skills and competencies to deliver quality social protection and school feeding activities and results.

• Identify and strengthen social protection and school feeding programmatic partnerships with relevant Hirshabelle Ministries and Agencies, UN agencies and CPs to improve effective delivery of WFP projects.

• Manage the creation and distribution of timely analytical reports and knowledge products, both internally and externally, to enhance WFP's credibility as a social protection and safety net partner.

Do you meet the minimum requirements?

Education: Completion of secondary school education. post-secondary school certificate in the following fields is desirable: Development Studies, International Affairs, Economics, Social Sciences, or any other field relevant to international development assistance

Experience: Alteast 6 (six) years Proven experience in programme co-ordination, implementation and monitoring activities

Language: Fluency in oral and written communication in English and Somali.

Are you competent for this job? Do you have

• Experience in implementation of plans and activities with NGOs, UN agencies or with governmental institutions.

• Proven experience in the field with the ability to work independently on technical matters with minimum supervision.

• Experience working with donors and establishing creative partnerships.

• Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.

• Understanding of cash-based programmes in the humanitarian context

• Training and/or experience utilizing computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, and other WFP standard software packages and systems.

• General Knowledge of UN systems and policies, rules, regulations and procedures governing administration.

• Knowledge and experience in WFP interventions in Somalia is an added advantage.
