Project Interns – (ONLY FEMALES)
Job Title: Project Intern (Two Positions)
Duty station: Erigavo & Lasanod
CARE is an International NGO working in Somalia and Somaliland. CARE and its partners work with vulnerable communities to address the underlying causes of poverty and promote peace and development, through its strategic goal to reduce poverty by empowering women, enhancing access to resources and services, and improving governance. CARE is looking for two Project Interns (one will be based in our Erigavo Office and other one will be based in our Lasanod Office
JOB SUMMARY
The project Interns will be based in Erigavo and Lasanod and support day-to-day implementation of the GEEPS project covering Sanag and Sool regions. They will be reporting to the Project Officer and will be expected to work with MoE in the Regional/and District Education Officers, local communities, CECs, GEF and BEF, school female mentors, schools, and line ministries to ensure the delivery of a high-quality project. The primary responsibilities will include project is take part for mobilization and enrollment campaigns, planning and implementation, project monitoring and reporting
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Take part conduct enrolment drives and awareness campaigns for out of school children/girls by existing CEC in the identified (public, community/private) schools.
Take part in the implementation of the GEEPS project in accordance with the workplans and the involvement of concerned stakeholders at all levels.
Take part in the distribution of sanitary of sanitary kits and other school supplies and ensure proper filling of documentation
Working with the project team and MOE ensure that project intervention target marginalized children with special emphasis on the girl child.
Help the Senior Project Officer in Organizing and participate in quarterly monitoring and evaluation of the projects
Ensure that project/program monitoring and evaluation system/tools are applied in every activity implemented and data collected both in soft and hard copy using the M&E tools.
Participate and conduct regular visits to the Formal schools’ centers to collect data on enrollment, attendance, and transition of OOSG enrolled in the respective schools.
Prepare activity reports on each activity implemented and submit the report to the SPO
Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma in social sciences or development related fields.
Fluent in written and spoken English and Somali as well
Should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
