Context

UNFPA Somalia is supporting the census activities to improve demographic data availability for policy and planning. To enhance real-time monitoring, spatial analysis, and communication of data insights, UNFPA Somalia is engaging online volunteers with technical expertise in key data areas.

Task description

Develop training content and undertake training of the survey teams in one or more of the following areas:

1. Survey123 Mobile Data Collection Tool Development

2. GIS System Architecture Design: Development of a robust and scalable geospatial system architecture to manage and analyze large volumes of spatial data.

3. onDevelopment of dashboards using ArcGIS Online: Creation of interactive dashboards for visualizing the survey progress and key indicators during fieldwork in real time.,

4. Sampling and sample size determination

5. Field Data collection, monitoring and quality control GIS, and analytics.

6. Data processing and analysis

7. Survey reproducibility

8. Survey report writing

9. Data visualization using Arc GIS and Power BI

10. Data archiving and documentation

11. Data publicity and dissemination (web development, development of brochures and infographics)

Assignment requirements

Required experience

Bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in a relevant field. Required Skills and Experience:

- Relevant experience aligned with the role’s responsibilities.

- Proficiency in necessary tools (e.g., ArcGIS, SQL, Power BI, SPSS, Stata, Python, R, data editing, Sampling, data dissemination).

Languages

English, Level: Fluent, Required Somali, Level: Native language, Desirable
