Consultancy: EU Proposal Development

SOS Children’s Villages is a global federation of 136 national SOS Children’s Villages associations, working in more than 2,000 programme locations worldwide. We work together with a single vision: every child belongs to a family and grows with love, respect and security. SOS Children’s Villages in Somaliland is part of SOS Children’s Villages International, the umbrella organization to which all SOS Children’s Villages are affiliated. SOS Somaliland is committed to the welfare of children who lost parental care or at risk of losing parental care – often ensuring that children grow up in a loving family environment, and to strengthening families and communities as a preventive measure in the fight against child abandonment and social neglect and upholds child protection policy as part of their commitment to the protection of children and youth from abuse.

SOS Somaliland is looking for a consultant to develop an EU proposal. A consortium of international and national development actors led by SOS Federation (SOS Somaliland, SOS CV International) intends to submit a proposal for a call for application by EU BREACH: Boosting Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Change. The deadline for submission for the proposal is 22nd Feb.

Objectives: The consultant will provide strategic, technical and proposal writing and development support to the consortium. The programme focus for this call is Durable Solution for displacement-affected communities including minorities. The geographical focus is in Burco, Somaliland.

Requirements:

- Must have previous experience and expertise working with EU as a donor

- Minimum 5 year experience writing proposals and applications

- Knowledge and understanding on durable solutions programming in displaced communities

- Experience working in Somaliland and understanding the country context.

- Effective planning and management skills working with flexibility with multiple actors within a short period.

Scope of work:

• Read the Guidelines for grant applicants and other annexes to inform the most appropriate and relevant intervention model

• Write quality concept note and full proposal along with the consortium partners and participate in design workshop held by the consortium.

• Provide a strategic and technical advice to the consortium set-up in Somaliland; taking into account complementarity between partners; sector activities.

· Provide comments and recommendations to the project interventions and target groups.

Duration: The Assignment shall commence in 30th January 2023 and end February 28th 2023 – 1 Month. Location: Flexible (the person can work online or in-person).
