WTP Technician

Overview of the position:

The Camp Operating Group, COG, is skilled in building and managing camps in challenging environments. They create fully operational, secure and comfortable camps to the highest of possible standards. Adept at problem-solving, their team has years of experience operating in remote sites and complex environments. COG provides the necessary life support for discerning clients from catering to communication and can provide these services anywhere in the world.

Role objective:

Chelsea Village provides safe, comfortable, MOSS compliant accommodation and work space for International staff deployed to Mogadishu. Construction of the facilities and installation of plant and equipment has been completed. the WTP Technician will be responsible for the daily maintenance functions of the camp under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

The WTP Technician will be based in Mogadishu, accommodated in a secure camp which although basic is nevertheless safe, clean and well serviced including internet, television and three meals per day.

Expected output:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the hydro works/plumbing works and equipment installation at Chelsea Village proceeds according to specification and time lines.
Specific responsibilities include:
Be closely familiar with all specifications and plans issued to contractors engaged to deliver electrical and hydro works and equipment at Chelsea Village.
Oversee the establishment of the electrical and hydro networks with the Maintenance Manager in Chelsea Village during the construction phase.
Visit the Chelsea Village site daily to accurately follow progress of work and delivery of equipment ensuring the contractors produce to the quality levels, specification and time frames described in the respective contracts.
The WTP Technician reports directly to the Chelsea Village Maintenance Manager.
Provide day to day maintenance servicing of all equipment in the village once the Village is built and occupied.

Project reporting:

This role reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Team management:

This role does not have team management responsibility.

Geographical experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Africa with local experience in Mogadishu is an advantage.


Any relevant qualification matching the terms for this role.


Minimum 3 years of relevant experience is required.


Fluent English speaker.
